Swim events are open to all ages and swimming abilities. Athletes from the
DC metro area as well as from across the country will gather to learn the
intricacies of open water swimming. The courses are designed to provide
safe and challenging events for both pool swimmers and open water
swimmers. In addition, these swims are a training opportunity for future race
officials. The swim organizers use their experience from national level
competitions to create a swimmer, family and spectator friendly festival

HarborFest open water swims are designed to provide a comprehensive practice
for race day triathlon and swim conditions. Swims will be started, and timed as the
swim leg of a triathlon. Swimmers may choose one distance in the three Potomac
River courses. Open water swimming experts will provide basic knowledge for
beginning and intermediate swimmers for open water race techniques. HarborFest
is the perfect opportunity to practice race day swimming without the pressure of a
full tri.

swim series of its kind, offering a choice of three triathlon swimming event

Now in the Potomac River, the  "Nation's River," competition opportunity awaits to
challenge and invigorate the open water swimmer in everybody
from sea to shining
sea. National Harbor is a premiere open water swimming venue, prime for swimmers and
spectators alike.  Walking distance from the swim course are resort hotels, shops and fine
dining. Within twelve minutes from exiting the water, you could be standing at the foot
of the Washington Monument.
